Matadee Traders sells makhana — the kind of food people reach for between meals, chosen so that reaching for it is a good decision.

What we sell

Makhana — fox nuts, grown in the ponds of Bihar and roasted rather than fried — together with almonds, cashews, walnuts, pistachios, raisins, seeds and gift boxes built from them. Everything is sold in sealed, food-grade packs with the weight, ingredients, nutrition information and shelf life printed on them.

Nothing added that does not need to be there — no preservatives, no artificial colours, no artificial flavours.
Sourced directly where we can — buying from growers and processors rather than through several hands keeps the produce fresher and the price honest.
Packed in small batches — so that what arrives is close to when it was packed, which for roasted products is most of what quality means.

How we work

No surprises at the till. Every price on this site is in Indian Rupees and excludes GST, which is added at checkout and shown as its own line before you pay. The struck-through figure on a card is the maximum retail price of that pack, not an invented reference price.
A tax invoice with every order. It is generated when your order is confirmed and you can download it from your account at any time afterwards.
You are told what is happening. Confirmation, dispatch, delivery, cancellation — each one reaches you by email, and the same history is on the order page.
Reviews are from customers. A review can only be left from an account that exists, one per product, and staff accounts cannot review their own shop.

Food safety

We operate as a food business under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, and follow the labelling requirements of the Food Safety and Standards (Labelling and Display) Regulations, 2020 and the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011. Batch and expiry details are printed on every pack — please check them on arrival, and tell us within 48 hours if anything is wrong.
